KSU Spring Break Florida Trip Preview

February 27, 2013

Kennesaw, GA – The Owls will hit the road on Friday for the annual spring break road trip. This year, Kennesaw State will take their talents to south beach to take on some of Florida's finest talent.

KSU will start the trip in Orlando with a visit to the campus of the University of Central Florida. The Owls will face off with the UCF Knights on Saturday at noon on the school's intermural fields. The following day, the Owls will travel to Boca Raton to play #15 Palm Beach Atlantic. After a day off on Monday, the team will finish up the trip with a game against the Bulls of South Florida.

"We are excited about this trip, we are playing quality competition and this trip will give us an opportunity to grow as a team", noted defenseman Tom Mudrak.

This trip will conclude the MCLA DI schedule for KSU as UCF and USF are both members of SELC SE DI. The Owls hope to find better results than their previous DI games this season in which the Owls are currently 0-3.

The Owls have never faced Central Florida or South Florida but the prospects of competing against these teams bring a fresh challenge to KSU.

"Central Florida is probably the best team we will play this season. They are fast and have a long tradition of success in MCLA DI", added Mudrak. "They play an up tempo game and put a lot of points on the board so our defense is really going to have to step up."

The Owls are also looking forward to playing the Sailfish again. The Owls are 3-0 against Palm Beach over the last 3 years. Including a game last April in which KSU defeated PBA 13-8 in the first round of the SELC Tournament.

The Owls come into the weekend ranked #25 in the Nike/IL Poll. They are currently riding a 5 game losing streak.
