By Tom Mudrak for KSU Lax
The Kennesaw State Owls released their 2013 spring schedule today. Coming off of an 8-5 season last spring which included an appearance in the SELC Championship game, the Owls are looking to continue their streak of division titles with the larger goal of winning our first SELC Championship.
The 2013 schedule features 6 home games, 1 less than last season but also includes 6 true road games. Last year, the Owls played only 1 road game.
The Owls will play 7 consecutive games away from the Owls Nest between February 2nd and March 16th. The 80 day stretch includes 3 straight neutral site games in February before a 3 game swing in the sunshine state.
This season’s SELC D1 slate includes southwestern division opponents Auburn University, Georgia Tech, and the University of Georgia. The Owls will also face the Central Florida Knights and the South Florida Bulls during an early March road trip.
The three out-of-conference opponents on the schedule are the 17th ranked Coast Guard Academy Bears, CCLA power Grove City College, and Missouri Baptist University out of the GRLC.
The team will return home in mid-March for consecutive home games including a 6:00pm face-off against defending Southeast Division Champion Florida Gulf Coast University. The team will finish its regular season with our 4 Southwest Division rivals; Emory, Tennessee Wesleyan, Emmanuel, and Reinhardt.
Senior weekend will take place on the weekend of April 12th. The Owls will host division new comer Emmanuel College on Friday night and Reinhardt College on Sunday afternoon.
The 3 neutral site games will be held at Sprayberry High School, Baylor (TN) School, and SCAD.
