Owls split weekend at Athens and at home

The UGA Bulldogs took a big bite out of the Owl’s in an 18-4 loss. UGA was ranked #23 nationally in the A Division in the MCLA on the day of the game.  The Owl’s play in the B Division in the MCLA. Despite the Bulldog beating, JD Douthit lead the attack with 2 goals and 1 assist, Tim Minick also had 2 goals. Kyle Hansen held his own in the cage stopping 9 of 27 shots. The Owl’s only took 9 shots the whole game.

The KSU Owl’s hosted the GCSU Bobcats on February 11th. KSU got back on track with a 14-4 win over the Bobcat’s. The Owl’s struggled with fatigue after tough loss to UGA the day before. The attack was lead by JD Douthit with 3 goals and 4 assists, Ian Lehrer and Tim Minick both had 3 goals apiece. Justin Ferna and Charlie Roland each had two goals. Glenn got on the books with his first goal of the season, and Robert Witt had an assist. The solid defense only allowed 23 shots the entire game. Goaltender Wes Bass saved 7 of 9 shots, and Kyle Hansen saved 12 of 14 shots.

The KSU Owls are headed to Charleston to play Citadel in an SELC divisional matchup. The Owls look forward to a successful road trip by winning in historic Charleston, SC. A Win against Citadel would put the owls at 2-0 in the division and in good position to make the tournament headed into the final 3 divisional games. The trip begins a month on the road for the Owls.
